The Basic Characteristic of a Fin is to counteract
your movement on the board, to direct you to a different
part of the wave.
Fin Shapes: The
more Vertical the fin, the more
pivot type of turn. The more Raked Back
(i.e. leaning towards tail), the longer the turn
or arc will be. The Wider the Base or Top Half,
the more stable, hold & speed, you will feel.
Having a Sliding Fin Box, can change the feel/response
of a fin, the Further Back the Fin, the stiffer
the board, the more forward, the looser the board.
Add 2 Small Stabilizers, the board will become stable
and will create lift in the tail, for more speed
and flow.
We custom handcraft a limited number of only 20
fins per day with a minimum of 3 hours of skilled
labour in each, and takes 3-4 weeks to make from
when receiving confirmation of order + 50% deposit.
At a cost no matter where you are worldwide, we
can send you your fins, using the freight of your
choice.
Different combinations of Single Fin/Twin Fin/Thruster/Quad
& 5 Fin set-ups change the style and function
of the board, to give more speed/hold/stability/lift
& flow.
Personal choice, Board Size, Surfer Size, the Surfer’s
Ability and the Type of Surf are the main criteria
when deciding on the most suitable fin.
Maisch ‘Pure Glass’ Fins are Traditionaly
Laminated & Handmade with either solid 6oz Hexcel
Glass layUp or 6oz Hexcel Glass and C.S.M. Combo
using High Grade Resin or Epoxy. Availible in Single/Double
Colour or Graphic InLay with High Gloss Polish Finish.
Thickness of the Foils vary from 7mm glass-on to
13mm Sail fins.
